Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
NAIDOC Week and Reconciliation Week
At Wyee Public School, NAIDOC Week and Reconciliation Week are proud highlights of our school calendar. With a strong and proud Aboriginal culture woven throughout our school community. These weeks provide meaningful opportunities for students, staff, and families to come together in celebration, reflection, and learning. From powerful artwork and storytelling to music, dance, and community involvement, we honour the histories, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples - building respect, understanding, and a stronger future together.
GRIP Student Leadership Conference
Each year, our Student Leadership Team proudly represents our school at the GRIP Student Leadership Conference in Newcastle. They meet fellow leaders, take part in leadership-building activities, and brainstorm ideas to continue their positive impact on our whole school community.
Grandparents' Day Celebrations
In October, we celebrate the love, wisdom, and stories our grandparents and grandfriends share with us. Their guidance and kindness make our communities stronger and our lives richer. The smiles, stories, and laughter fill our classrooms with so much joy.
"We’re so impressed by all the opportunities the school provides - from academics to arts to sports. Our child has discovered passions we didn’t even know they had! It’s really helped our child build confidence and find what they love." — a parent of Wyee Public School
