Last week was one of those weeks where I spent every day smiling and feeling so proud of our whole school community. Our NAIDOC activities on Tuesday were such a celebration of culture and it was so wonderful to have members of our community, including an ex-student, join us to run activities. Thank you to all the parents who added their handprint to our poles, I love how much the poles have brightened our playground! Our assembly on Friday was a wonderful close to the week with 2 of our students presenting and it was great to see some ex-students in the MHS didge group who performed. A big thank you to Mrs Nichols for her organisation of all the NAIDOC events last week.
Our Book Parade was a colourful and fun way to celebrate and again it was wonderful to see so many parents here celebrating with us. Thank you to all parents who purchased from the Book Fair. Thank you to Mrs Varndell for her organisation of the day and to our wonderful P&C parents who kept everyone fed with yummy treats.
Finally, congratulations to Mrs Wade, Mrs Mailey, Bailey and Cate McIntyre who were acknowledged with a special award for all their hard work for our school at the Western Shores Learning Alliance special assembly last Thursday. A huge thank you and well done to Samantha, Sophie, Jude and Hannah who performed on the night performing a fantastic rendition of ‘Bunyip Blues'. You are all superstars! Thank you to Mrs Gomez who practised with the ensemble and prepared them for the night and of course Mr Paul who taught them all they know!
